MassCar Membership
Modeling is more fun when it’s shared with friends. And what better way to meet new friends than to join a model car building club. The Masscar Club offers you the opportunity to share model building techniques with other modelers, and get answers to your model building questions from other experienced members. Masscar is an award-winning IPMS chapter, (International Plastic Modeler’s Society) and was established for those modelers who enjoy building and collecting model cars and trucks.
The club meets twice a month in Medfield, Massachusetts. The meetings are a flurry of activity: from the monthly contests to models in every possible state of construction, on display for “show and tell.” “How-to” demonstrations, which encompass building, detailing and painting, are a regular part of a Masscar meeting. Occasionally, members put themselves in the spotlight by showing off their latest project, or by sharing with us how they got started in the hobby, by exhibiting their model collection to the other members. Every Spring, MassCar puts on a highly successful Model Car Exhibition. This show (one of the largest of its kind in the northeast) is a whole day event, chock full of model contests, seminars, vendor room, and fun events such as model bingo and a kit auction. It’s a great day of fun for the whole family, kicked off the night before by a banquet dinner. As you can see, being part of this group can truly be fulfilling—have lots of fun times, and meet some great people who share your interests in cars and modeling. For members who cannot make the meetings due to work or other commitments, we’ll keep you informed with our monthly Club Newsletter, which is filled with articles, how-to information, and articles submitted by members. |
